Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Signature Artist Proof #2 White, 2017

Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Signature Artist Proof #2 White, 2017

he Gibson ES-Les Paul Alex Lifeson Artist Proof #2 is the second of three production proof models built, before the design went to the regular line. All three of these guitars were personally approved by Alex Lifeson.  Alex Lifeson is one of the most recognised rock guitarists, having spent his career with his band Rush. I am reminded of my high school days, seeing Rush perform in the school cafeteria on a stage made of folded tables; this was a long time ago and shows how dedicated Rush has been to working hard.

Ibanez George Benson GB10 BS Sunburst Thinline Archtop Guitar, 1986

Ibanez George Benson GB10 BS Sunburst Thinline Archtop Guitar, 1986

The Ibanez George Benson GB10 BS is still in production as are other versions of the model, and they are as practical as when introduced. This model features two ‘floating’ mini-humbucking pickups, one attached to the fingerboard tag and the other to the pickguard. Neither contacts the top though the pickguard has a small support post. In the 1980s, the great Jazz guitarist George Benson entered into a collaboration with Ibanez to produce a series of signature archtop electric guitars, including the GB10 and its fancier sisters.

Gibson ES-335TD Thinline Archtop with Coil Tap Natural, 1979

Gibson ES-335TD Thinline Archtop with Coil Tap Natural, 1979

The Gibson ES-335TD – Two pickup, Double cutaway – was a hit from its appearance in the late 1950. In one stroke it combined the best of solidbody and archtop guitars in a classy package. There have been a number of minor variations on the model since then. Here, we are looking at a Gibson ES335TD in gloss natural finish and all original condition except for one strap pin. It was built at the Gibson Kalamazoo plant and the serial dates it to July 6th, 1979.

❌❌ Gibson ES-330 TD Thinline Archtop Guitar Sunburst, 1963

❌❌ Gibson ES-330 TD Thinline Archtop Guitar Sunburst, 1963

Built at the Kalamazoo, Michigan plant during 1963, this Gibson ES-330 TD is in overall good, complete and original condition. It has been played and used as intended so the finish has some minor wear and lovely natural checking, with moderate to heavy fret wear in some positions. Overall it’s in good shape with wear in the expected areas; it has not been abused or neglected though it’s definitely seen use.   It is currently strung with flat wounds.
