Gibson Les Paul Deluxe GoldTop, 1970

Gibson Les Paul Deluxe GoldTop, 1970

Built from 1969 to 1985, the Gibson Les Paul Deluxe GoldTop was a renaming of the Les Paul Standard, but used the original P-90 body route and a pair of mini-humbuckers mounted in modified P-90 covers. This allowed for a low cost refresh of the model, co-incidentally using up parts Gibson had on hand. Initially introduced in 1952, the Gibson Les Paul carried the GoldTop finish, a pair of P-90s, and a trapeze tailpiece.

Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray 5 Bass Honeyburst, 2004

Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray 5 Bass Honeyburst, 2004

Introduced in 1987, the Stingray 5 bass was the first new bass offered following Ernie Ball’s purchase of Music Man, and has consistently had a solid following. This model is based on the Music Man Stingray bass introduced in 1976 and partly designed by Leo Fender, with input from Sterling Ball. When first introduced, it was quickly adopted by players like Tony Levin and others who frequently needed lower C or B notes, but without sacrificing the tone of higher pitches.

Fender Broadcaster® 70th Anniversary Blonde 2020

  Fender Broadcaster® 70th Anniversary Blonde 2020

The new, limited edition Fender Broadcaster® 70th Anniversary recreates an historic instrument, one of the very first successful solidbody electric guitars. The first Fender Broadcaster® was built for less than a year, from mid 1950 to early 1951, in a quantity of perhaps 250. At that point, the Gretsch company filed a copyright claim to protect their Broadkaster drum line. For immediate response Fender simply cut the word ‘Broadcaster’ from the decal, and these models are known as ‘NoCasters’. For the latter part of 1951, once the modified ‘NoCaster’ decals were used up, new ‘Telecaster’ decals started to appear.
