The Gibson SG Standard has been one of the core instruments for rock and blues styles since its introduction as the 1961 Les Paul model. The Les Paul designation lasted only about a year and a half, ending with Gibson’s endorsement contract with Les Paul.

Gibson SG Standard Wine Red, 1969

This Gibson SG Standard in Wine Red finish and ‘Batwing’ pickguard, is built during 1969 at the historic Parsons Street plant in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Introduced in 1961 as a radically updated version of the Les Paul, the Gibson SG Standard sported a thin, light weight double cutaway body with nearly unrestricted access to all the frets.

Gibson ES175T Thinline Archtop Electric Wine Red, 1976

The Gibson ES175T is based on the classic full bodied ES175, but with sides just over half the thickness. This model appeared in Gibson Catalogs from 1976 to 1979. Before being discontinued, approximately 333 were shipped in the Wine Red finish seen here, Natural, and Sunburst. Sporting a single Florentine (pointed) cutaway, the Gibson ES175T has some visual similarities to other models, like the ES125TDC, except that it has higher grade appointments and hardware.
