The National Style 1 tricone guitar was introduced in 1927, and was an early attempt in getting enough volume to compete with groups of banjos. These instruments have a distinctive sound, not just because they are loud!
This example of the National Style 1 Tricone Squareneck dates to 1928, and features a German Silver plated body with mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. The cones are newer as are the tuners. It comes with a newer National hard shell case.
A note about the photograph of the back: in order to give a better view of the patterning of the back plating, this was shot with a black card above the instrument. While this brings out the patterning, the back isn’t actually grey or black, it is silver.
