| Comments | Presenting – the 1965 Hofner Verithin model 4574!
Hofner built the model 4574 from 1960 to 1974, and technically the ‘Verithin’ name applies to the Selmer-branded guitars – but as they are otherwise extremely similar, the name has crossed brand boundaries. Hofner now includes ‘Verythin’ models in their standard lineup. The guitar is built similarly to the highly successful Beatle Bass, with a spruce top and arched back and sides. Early models used the same rectangular control plate and ‘teacup’ knobs as the bass, but by 1965 the controls had moved to the inline configuration shown here, with a master volume and two tone controls. |
