Near the top of the line for production models, the Deering GDL 5-String Banjo – the Greg Deering Limited – is a spectacular illustration of the state of the Banjo art.
This Deering GDL banjo was built during 2008 and was ordered new from The Twelfth Fret with an upgrade to Chrome hardware, but it’s been basically unplayed since them. It is in extremely good condition and Grant MacNeill has checked it over for playability and confirmed its condition. The resonator is a bookmatched Burl Walnut, from English Walnut trees grown in California. Walnut is a traditional wood for banjos, which provides a warmer, rich tone while supporting the clarity and attack of a banjo.
