The C. F. Martin D-28 Marquis, in sunburst and plain top, has recently been discontinued in favour of specific ‘Authentic’ versions. Here, it features an Adirondack Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides.
From the Martin website: ‘The D-28 Marquis Sunburst features “Martin Golden Era” (1930-1940) appointments and is constructed in East Indian rosewood, including a top embellished with the Martin 1935 sunburst pattern. Perfect for the advanced guitarist.’
This 2011 D-28 Marquis Sunburst is in very good condition with the slightest wear – the fretwear could be rendered nearly invisible with a bit of time spent with 0000-grade steel wool polish; there’s a small bit of wear on the first fret at the second string – the C. The original hardshell case is included.
