Evan Kingma is from Southern Ontario and has been building for only a few years. During that time he has been working as apprentice to Stephen Hill at The European Institute of Guitar Making in La Herradura, Spain.
We’ve received a pair of his new guitars, and they are impressive. Here we’re looking at number 5, a model built with German Spruce top and Purple Heart for the back and sides; the back has an ebony center panel. It features a 650mm scale lenmgth and 52mm nut width, an asymmetrical 6-fan bracing pattern, Perona tuners, and a French Polish finish.
This guitar is lively and responsive, with a full and rich voice. Once played in it will be an outstanding instrument. A Hiscox case is included. Check the YouTube video – this is one of the three guitars demonstrated.
