Built at the Godin Premiere Atelier in Richmond Quebec, the Godin Passion RG-4 bass is an excellent rendering of the highly practical P-J bass concept. Using a chambered body of Red Cedar with a Swamp Ash top, a traditional maple neck, and a Seymour Duncan Quarter-Pound PJ pickup set, the RG-4 has a wide range of useful tones.
From the 1980’s, one of the most popular modifications Fender Precision Bass players asked for was the addition of a Jazz Bass pickup in the bridge position. This modification has become a standard, available on many basses.
We are very impressed with the RG-4, and Brian Dickie, our bass specialist, feels it’s one of the best sounding basses available. Here’s what Godin says about this new instrument:
