The Godin Session is a rendering of one of the most versatile electric guitar layouts, the SSH (Single Single Humbucker) with trem bridge. And, not only is it well designed and built, it’s quite affordable. The body and neck of the Session are built at Godin plants in La Patrie and Richmond, Quebec using native Canadian woods where possible and assembled in Berlin, New Hampshire.
Picking up a Session, the first impression is that this is a very well put together guitar. It covers all the bases for many styles, from rock to country and pop. The body is Laurentian Basswood, light and resonant, and the neck is Rock Maple from Quebec. Indian Rosewood is used on rosewood-fingerboard models. It has a standard 25.5 inch scale length with medium fretwire. There are two Godin single coils in the neck and middle position, and a Godin humbucker at the bridge that can be split by pulling up on the tone knob. A two-point Tru-Lock trem bridge is standard. A Gig bag is included.
