Comments	We’ve just received another Collings MF5 mandolin, and as usual it’s beyond impressive. Built using the best materials Collings can lay their hands on, this is a top-shelf instrument. The MF5 is a traditional F-style mandolin featuring understated elegance – until you start to play it. Then it steps right out to the front!

Neck	Flame maple neck with bound ebony fingerboard, dot markers. Bound ebony headplate with Mother-of-Pearl flourish and Collings logo inlays. 5 1/2″ to 11 5/8″ compound radius fingerboard, 1 1/8″ nut width.
Frets	Standard narrow mandolin frets.
Body	F-style body with carved Adirondack spruce top, flame maple sides and carved flame maple back. F-holes and Tone bar bracing on top.
Finish	Gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish in very nice antique sunburst.
Hardware/electronics	Nickel plated engraved tuners, nickel plated Collings tailpiece. Bone nut, adjustable ebony bridge.
Playability/Action	As you’d expect from Collings, the factory setup is very good. We will of course adjust it to the player’s requirements.
