This Dave Mills Frailing banjo, built during 2018, is an open-back style mostly using Rickard components, not surprising as Mills and Rickard are associates.
These instruments are pretty straightforward, and this Mills Frailing model uses a cherry-stained Maple neck with Ebony fingerboard – with Frailing scoop – and Cyclone tuners, mounted on an 11 inch pot with a Little Wonder style tone ring set, and with a no-knot tailpiece; all hardware has an antiqued finish.
This instrument is in overall very good condition, with absolutely minimal wear. It plays well, and has a full rich tone.
Sold without case.
