Designed in co-operation with the late Gary Benson, the Douglas Harrison GB Custom Spalted Maple Top has proven to be a very successful model that addresses the requirements of the jazz guitarist.
This Douglas Harrison GB jazz guitar features a stunning hand carved spalted maple top with deep vibrant flame figure, a chambered tropical mahogany body that has been subtly shaded on the edges to enhance its natural warm glow — all offset by some premium Macassar ebony utilized in the fingerboard, tailpiece, bridge and peghead veneer.
The custom wound Lindy Fralin humbucking pickup can be blended on-board with a piezo bridge pickup, to achieve anything from traditional to modern jazz tones.
The attention to detail is as always quite astonishing. Check out how the grain on the knobs aligns perfectly with the spalting on the top!
The woods used on this instrument have been carefully selected, not just for tone, quality and appearance, but also to avoid any endangered or restricted materials. CITES documentation is not necessary.
