The Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Standard was built from 2003 to 2009, though there were earlier models under the ‘Epiphone Elite’ name. However, it turned out that Ovation was already using the ‘Elite’ name.

These guitars were built by Fuju-Gen at Matsumoto, Japan for Gibson, as the high end of the Epiphone line. They use US made hardware and top quality woods. The fit and finish are top quality.

This Elitist Les Paul Standard dates to 2004, and is in overall good shape with minimal wear. There is a small chip in the clear coat below the stop tailpiece, but the tint is still intact. There is also a finish check on the bass side of the heel, but this looks like simply a finish effect – the materials used are fairly thick.

The wood selection is great, with very clearly flamed and well matched top. The vintage style burst really sets off the wood’s figure. This guitar is really resonant and responsive, plays and sounds great.

The original Epiphone hard shell case is included.
