Introduced in 1960, the Fender Jazz Bass was intended to provide a more accurate simulation of an acoustic bass sound, aimed squarely at jazz players. Immediately successful, it has remained in production as one of Fender’s most popular basses.
Here we’re looking at a Fender Jazz Bass from 1967 in a sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer finish; for 1968, these basses received a heavier polyester finish. This is a CBS era instrument, with the ‘F’ stamped neckplate and oval tuner buttons.
This instrument is in good physical and playing condition. The finish and metal plating has expected wear and oxidization, with a few chips around the edges of the body.
It has been professionally refretted and set up, and is strung with round wounds. It’s ready to go!
A new brown Fender vintage-style rectangular hard shell case is included.
