The Fender Telecaster Blonde was arguably the first successful production electric guitar, and it has been continuously made since the early 1950’s without major changes. Its design is simple, effective, reliable and durable. And, it has a great potential for user modifications.
Telecasters have appeared on countless recordings and performances in all kinds of genres.
Here we are looking at a Fender Telecaster Blonde dating to 1976 at the Fullerton plant. It is in largely original condition, and from the finish wear around the bridge, a previous owner often used the ‘ashtray’ bridge cover. The body is Ash paired with a Maple neck, giving lots of snap and bite to the tone.
The finish is in overall good shape for the guitar’s age, with some expected chipping and marking mostly around the edges. The neck finish is also showing some edge chipping, and the frets are original with moderate wear though there is lots of material left.
The high E tuner shaft is bent, as is the center saddle adjustment screw.
A non-original hard shell case is included.
