This Fender Telecaster, built in 1974 sports a relatively unusual Natural finish and is in very nice, all original condition.
Built with a one-piece Maple neck – and its Walnut ‘Skunk’ stripe covering the channel for the rear-mounted truss rod and a three-piece Ash body, this example is typical of the Telecaster design and the aesthetics of this period.
Since its introduction in the dawn of the 1950’s, the Telecaster has been built with only minor changes. Three of them seen here are the use of a three-layer pickguard and a plastic neck-plate gasket (which is a really good idea), and steel saddles with grooves for string placement.
At 49 years old, the body’s finish is in good condition with some expected checking but very few dings or dents. The neck finish has like many guitars a few small chips at the edge of the fingerboard. Fretwear is light, and this Telecaster plays well.
The original black rectangular hard shell case is included.
