The Gibson Les Paul Studio is one of the better deals in quality electric guitars. Built on the same plan and same machines as other Les Paul Models, the Studio lacks binding and often has less elaborate, and less expensive, finishes. This one, dating to August 15 2013 at Nashville, sports a gloss vintage sunburst.
This Gibson Les Paul Studio is in great, original condition, with very little wear. It has all the elements of a Les Paul – the maple capped mahogany body (with weight relief) and mahogany neck. The unbound fingerboards are now Granadillo, in response to restrictions on Indian Rosewood; Granadillo is a South American Rosewood that is very commonly used for instruments on the southern continent.
This example uses the traditional Gibson Deluxe tuners, based on the Kluson Deluxe with plastic Keystone buttons. I personally prefer these as they tend to work smoothly, and are lighter than sealed tuners – something that can matter on tilt-headstock guitars like this. The plastic parts are creme, including the pickguard. The trim rings are warping slightly from the bend to conform to the arched top, but these are trivial to replace.
The metal hardware is chrome plated. The pickups are wired with push-pull switches on the volume controls for coil splitting.
The original Gibson hard shell case is included.
