Built from 1970 to 1982 at the Alvdalen, Sweden plant, the Hagstrom Swede was a major step for the Swedish builder and this Mahogany example illustrates how good these guitars were.

Before evolving into the 1979 set-neck Super Swede, the Swede used a bolt-on design and did not have a zero fret.

This example dates to 1973 and was 44th in its production batch. It is built of Mahogany, with a bound Ebony fingerboard. Position markers are plastic, similar to drum covering material. It is in original, complete condition – though the covers for the Van Gent tuners have been removed, and are in the case. Serial numbers are located on the jack plate.

While these guitars are quite good, Hagstrom was never able to break into the North American distribution channels, and consequently they are not common in Canada and the USA.

If you’re looking for an unusual, quality guitar, the Hagstrom Swede models are well worth looking at.

The original hard shell case is included.
