Here we have a new Alastair Miller Barncaster in Fiesta Red with body of lightweight reclaimed Oregon Pine! The full-profile neck is Birds-Eye Maple, with a reclaimed and quite dark Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with modern high but narrow fret wire.
For hardware, Alastair built a pair of “Pig Farmer” pickups. The neck pickup uses Alnico 3 magnets, and the bridge Alnico 5. The tuners are vintage Kluson style enclosed models, and the bridge is a vintage style Fender part. The metal parts are all very lightly reliced.
Like others in the series, this Miller Barncaster is a very well made instrument and is very light and resonant. The setup is very good and overall this plays very well and sounds great.
A Levy’s leather-ish gig bag is included.
