This Alastair Miller Green T traditional solidbody features a Lollar Charlie Christian pickup in the neck position and a cool Green Tea finish!
The neck is one piece of Bocote, a relative of Zirocote and native to Mexico and other Central American countries, with a Maple ‘skunk stripe’ insert. The frets are a vintage style wire. The front of the headstock is coated with clear nitrocellulose lacquer with the Miller decal applied over top; the rest of the neck has an oil finish.
For the Miller Green T, Swamp Ash was chosen for the traditional T-style body. The bridge, neck plate and tuning machines are by Gotoh, and have received a light ‘relic’ treatment. The bridge pickup is a Miller custom overwound model, using Alnico III magnets and plain enamel 42 gauge wire, with a resistance of approximately 7.5k.
The neck pickup is a Lollar Charlie Christian model, and here is the description from Lollar:
“Like its legendary namesake, this handmade neck pickup delivers a rich, deep tone with round top end and long sustain. The output is comparable to a P-90 or Imperial humbucker. While ideal for jazz players it also works well with moderate tube amp distortion. It’s made with low resistance coil wound with 38-gauge wire — just like the original Charlie Christian pickups — along with a nickel plated blade pole piece and Alnico bar magnets.”
This is a very nice guitar, well set up as stock, with a lot of clarity, resonance and sustain.
The Miller Green T is supplied with a gig bag.
