This Oskar Graf Cedar Top, Indian Rosewood classical guitar was built during 1997 at Graf’s shop in Clarendon, Ontario and demonstrates his high level of skill. Graf now builds north of Kingston, in Westport, Ontario.
Born in Berlin, Oskar Graf has been building instruments since 1970 and is very highly regarded; his guitars are used by many top players. His brother Jurgen also builds high quality classical guitar tuning gears.
This Oskar Graf Cedar top guitar is built with a Red Cedar top, traditionally paired with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides, bridge, headplate and backstrap. The neck and body blocks are Mahogany, and the fingerboard is Ebony. It is in overall very good condition, with light marking from finger nails and a couple of small dings on the top. The finish is very light, so as not to restrict the wood’s vibration, and is displaying natural sinking into the pores of the wood. The tuners were made by Graf’s brother Jurgen. It plays well and is very responsive with a well developed voice.
The original hard shell case is included.
