The Godin Multiac Jazz SA is one of the many Multiac variants, here with a highly figured Maple top, chambered Maple and Poplar back, Maple neck, Richlite fingerboard and a range of pickup options including synthesizer output. The Godin Multiac Jazz, like other Multiac models draws from the early 1980’s Gibson Chet Atkins Classical concept – a solid bodied, set-neck guitar with a piezo bridge pickup and preamp set. While Gibson did not pursue this as diligently as they might have, Godin stepped up to produce an excellent, durable and very versatile instrument with a wide range of applications, and very little feedback at stage volumes!

MORE →At the end of the 1970s it was apparent that the classic models needed updating and the Fender ‘The Strat’ model appeared in 1980 with this aim. Built from 1980 to 1983, towards the end of the CBS period, The Strat featured an ash body, solid colours and matching (small) headstocks, a gold plated heavy brass bridge and control knobs, and revised wiring with the second tone control replaced with a two-position rotary switch.
