Beard Resoluxe Solidbody Resophonic Electric Guitar Sunburst, 2018

Here’s a very cool instrument – a Paul Beard Resoluxe solidbody resophonic guitar from 2018, with both Fishman Nashville and a Lollar P-90 pickups! A fairly new model for Paul Beard, the Beard Resoluxe pairs a solid Mahogany body with a Mahogany neck, with Ebony for the fingerboard and head plate. A 9.5 inch hand spun biscuit cone occupies the top, and has the Fishman Nashville element on the biscuit.

Fender Closet Classic Telecaster Pro Black, 2017

The Closet Classic Telecaster Pro follows the original Telecaster specifications, but not slavishly. The body is lightweight Ash, the neck is quartersawn Maple, as in the originals. But there are a number of improvements here, including having the truss rod adjuster at the headstock, a new bridge design with a split center saddle allowing better intonation, a 22 fret neck with large ‘6105’ fret wire and Twisted Tele pickups.

Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster Oxblood 2014

Based largely on 1965 specifications, the Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster combines a classic offset Alder body with a Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard sporting binding and block inlays. The gloss polyester finish is an interesting metallic Oxblood tone, and that’s applied to the front of the headstock as well.

Gibson Byrdland Florentine Cutaway Sunburst, 1968

The Gibson Byrdland Florentine cutaway model originally had a rounded, ‘Venetian’ cutaway between its introduction in 1955 and 1960, and regained the Venetian cutaway in 1969. Modern Custom Shop ‘reissue’ models are available with either shape, since 1992. The Byrdland had its origins in the requirements of busy working session guitarists – two working session guitarists in particular. Hank Garland and Billy Byrd were two of the top Nashville players throughout the 1950’s.

Boucher Wild Goose 000 Steel String Guitar Sunburst, 2012

The Boucher Wild Goose 000 is built using Adirondack spruce for the top and bracing – the Boucher Shop is located in Quebec’s Adirondack mountains, a bit east of Quebec City on the South Shore, and the spruce is local. These are great playing and sounding instruments. This Boucher Wild Goose 000, built during 2012 is in great condition with only light wear. This model is now discontinued, as Boucher now focuses on Studio, Bluegrass and Heritage Goose models. These guitars are all very well built and definitely worth reviewing if you have the chance.
