Fender Telecaster Blonde Refinish, 1964

 Fender Telecaster Blonde Refinish, 1964

This Fender Telecaster Blonde Refinish dates largely to 1964, with a 1966 neck pickup and a newer pickguard of the correct white/black/white layering. Long ago, the body was stripped and refinished blonde.   The neck has some lacquer sprayed over the original finish, but this is quite worn and much of the wood is exposed – which makes it very comfortable.  The original decal is in good condition; at the time, Fender applied the decals over the lacquer finish, and many have not worn well.

Fender American Special Jazz Bass White, 2011

The Fender American Special Jazz Bass appeared during 2011, and features an Alder body with Maple neck, Pau Ferro fingerboard, and Vintage Alnico pickups. Very similar to the American Standard series, the American Special most visibly features the Greasebucket tone circuit, which rolls off highs while maintaining low-end definition.Fender introduced the Jazz Bass during 1960, and offered a much narrower neck than the wildly successful Precision Bass, and a pair of single coil pickups, with two pole pieces per string.

Gretsch Tennessee Rose G6119T Thinline Archtop Walnut, 2006

Gretsch Tennessee Rose G6119T Thinline Archtop Walnut, 2006

Here, we have a Gretsch Tennessee Rose G6119T model with a pair of Filter ‘Trons, built at the Japan Terada plant in Nagoya during 2006. It’s in great condition, with light wear and one small ding in the headstock. The pickup covers and rocking bar bridge are showing some light oxidization, which make the guitar look vintage. It’s built with the laminate maple, arched top, sealed ElectroTone body.

Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite Cherry Burst, 1992

Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite Cherry Burst, 1992

This Gibson Les Paul Studio Lite from 1992! Built between 1987 and 1998 at the Gibson Nashville plant, the Les Paul Studio Lite features classic Les Paul construction, but without binding, and with an ebony fingerboard. As its name implies, the Les Paul Studio Lite is weight relieved, and this example, dating to September 10th, 1992 sits on the scale at a svelte 7.8 pounds. It also has a 1960’s slim taper neck, quite a bit smaller than modern profiles. Hardware is gold plated, with coverless Gibson 490R and 490T pickups.

Gibson F-5L Fern Mandolin

 Gibson F-5L Fern Mandolin

This Gibson F-5L Fern mandolin has the ‘L’ designation, for Lloyd Loar; the F-5L model was introduced in 1978 as a return to the specifications Lloyd Loar used on his original F-5 Master Model instruments between 1922 and 1924. While Gibson arguably invented the modern mandolin with the combination of violin and mandolin elements, and Gibson mandolins were the standby for perhaps a century, Gibson mandolins have been hard to come by for some time.
