MORE →The Hofner 500/2 Club Bass Cavern spacing is a limited edition instrument based on the mid 1960’s hollow body single cutaway Club Bass, with ‘Cavern’ or ‘Close’ spacing pickups. The version seen here carries a ‘Relic’ vintage sunburst finish, and was shown at the 2019 NAMM extravaganza in Anaheim, California. This is a new instrument, delivering the look and tone of a vintage Club bass.

The classic Gretsch White Falcon was introduced this way, as a showcase at 1954 trade show. It has remained in production since then, with a number of variations- some subtle, others less so.Here we’re looking at a nice Gibson SG Standard built during 1977, likely at the Nashville Tennessee plant. This was during the Norlin era, and the back of the head features a ‘Volute’ typical of that time, added to help increase head strength.
