The Epiphone Elitist Les Paul Standard was built from 2003 to 2009, though there were earlier models under the ‘Epiphone Elite’ name. However, it turned out that Ovation was already using the ‘Elite’ name. These guitars were built by Fuju-Gen at Matsumoto, Japan for Gibson, as the high end of the Epiphone line. They use US made hardware and top quality woods. The fit and finish are top quality.

The Gretsch Jet is an under-rated guitar, but has appeared on many hit recordings. Chet Atkins used one on many classic recordings, and the first few Beatles albums feature George Harrison with his Jet.

This was the second version of the SG build – the initial production run had a side-to-side vibrola tailpiece. That was quickly replaced with the Maestro Lyre Vibrola, and this form was the SG Standard until the mid 1960’s. By 1963, the Les Paul name was removed for contractual reasons.
