2009 Rickenbacker 4001 C64 Bass

 2009 Rickenbacker 4001 C64 Bass

Rickenbacker introduced the 4001 bass in 1961 as an improved version of their first bass, the 4000 (introduced in 1957). The 4001 sported the same distinctive ‘crested wave’ body shape, but added a neck pickup and the cast bridge with built-in adjustable mute.

As with most modern professional grade basses, this has a full 34 inch scale length. Nut width is a comfortable 1.7 inch and the weight overall is just under 9.5 pounds.

Kay Pro K172 B Thinline Archtop Electric Guitar Honey Blonde, 1956

Kay Pro K172 B Thinline Archtop Electric Guitar Honey Blonde, 1956

Here is a real treat – a mid 1950’s Kay Pro K172-B thinline archtop electric guitar in a relatively rare blonde finish. During the 1950’s the electric guitar became increasingly popular and manufacturers like Kay stepped up to satisfy booming demand. The Kay Pro K172 B is largely maple. The top and back are nicely figured maple laminate pressed into an arched contour and the sides are the same material. The neck is solid maple, one piece, with bound rosewood fingerboard. The bridge and headplate are also rosewood. Interestingly, the block position markers are Mother of Pearl, not plastic.

Rickenbacker Model 360/12C63 12 String Electric FireGlo 2014

Rickenbacker Model 360/12C63 12 String Electric FireGlo 2014

The Rickenbacker Model 360/12C63 12 String Electric FireGlo is based on the original 1963 specifications of the most recognizable 12-string guitar, made famous by George Harrison. It sports a double-bound version of what is now the ‘330’ style body and the early FireGlo sunburst shaded finish. Toaster-top vintage style pickups, trapeze tailpiece and Rickenbacker’s unique compact headstock, this is as close as most can get to that 60’s tone.
