The Wildwood Exotic Wood Series Frailing banjo is the latest model from Mark Platen at  Wildwood using all non-endangered woods throughout and an oil rubbed, open pore finish.
This spectacular open-back instrument features a solid maple, lathe-turned pot fitted with a dense African Wenge-wood tone-ring. The neck is a mix of African Bubinga & Wenge with a Maple center strip and an ebony fretboard with Clawhammer scoop. The bindings are curly maple and all finished in an open-pore, hand-rubbed Tung Oil and wax finish.

During the 1800s there were many romantic guitar builders, in Paris, London, and other European cities.
This fine example was built in Paris around the 1850s and is stamped ‘Coffe’ and signed Coffe – Goguette by the neck block.
