Here we have a Tokai ‘SG Standard’ in a gloss Cherry Red finish, dating to around 2000. It was built in Korea and has no serial number, which places it between the mid 1990s and 2005. This particular example was purchased used by the current owner around 2002 in nearly new condition. It’s still in quite good shape and plays very well.
A Bigsby was mounted to the top, and the two top screw holes have been filled and touched up; one is partly covered by the stop tailpiece. The original pickups were removed and replaced with a Seymour Duncan in the bridge and a Gibson pickup in the neck position. The original pickups are included. Schaller strap locks have been installed. Fret wear is light. The finish, aside from the touchups, is in good clean condition. Like many Tokai copies, a lot of attention has been paid to making it look and feel ‘right’.
The original black hard shell case is included and contains the original pickups.
