| Comments | This is a lovely 2002 Morgan Concert Cutaway Koa Steel String Guitar, in excellent condition. It’s a full size guitar with a rounded Venetian cutaway, distinguishing it as an older model; most cutaway Morgans are now Florentine (pointed). The highly figured Koa back and sides are very attractive, but also add a warm brilliance to the tone. Morgan guitars are built in North Vancouver, British Columbia by David Iannone; the company is named after Iannone’s son. David Iannone was Jean Larrivee’s last traditional apprentice, and as such traces a tradition back through Larrivee, Edgar Moench, who learned from Marcello Barbero, who himself learned from Jose Ramirez II, and finally to Jose Ramirez I and his own teacher, Fransisco Gonzalez in 1870’s Madrid. |
