Regal Dobro Resophonic Guitar, 1935

 Regal Dobro Resophonic Guitar, 1935

The Regal Dobro Resophonic Guitar Model 37, built in Chicago during 1935 has been functionally restored by Grant MacNeill. This guitar is now both fully playable and an interesting historical example of American musical instrument production. Regal had a long history, beginning in 1896 as a brand of the Emil Wulschner Music Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. Emil died in 1900 and the Regal name and manufacturing stock was sold to Lyon and Healy in 1904. By 1908, production was moved to Chicago, Illinois under the name of the Regal Musical Instrument Company.

Gibson ES-339 Thinline Archtop Electric Guitar Cherry Red 2011

Gibson ES-339 Thinline Archtop Electric Guitar Cherry Red 2011

This is an excellent condition Gibson ES-339, this one in traditional Cherry Red and built during 2010 at the Nashville Custom Shop!  The original hard shell case and Certificate of Authenticity are included. The serial number here specifies that this ES-339 was built at Gibson Memphis Custom Shop in 2010. As a note about the serial numbering – Custom Shop serials don’t follow the rest of the company’s model. At this point the serial used CS plus six digits. The first digit is the year, starting in 2010, and the second digit is the location, with 5 being Memphis and 0 being Nashville.

Gibson ES-339 Thinline Archtop Electric Guitar Ebony 2011

Gibson ES-339 Thinline Archtop Electric Guitar Ebony 2011

The Gibson ES-339 uses a smaller 335 style body that was a hit from its introduction in 1996 as the ES-336. It gives all the tonal richness and versatility of the full-size ES-335, but in a more compact package. This ES-339 was built at Gibson Memphis Custom Shop in 2011. As a note about the serial numbering – Custom Shop serials don’t follow the rest of the company’s model. At this point the serial used CS plus six digits. The first digit is the year, starting in 2010, and the second digit is the location, with 5 being Memphis. So, this is a 2011 model from Memphis.
