Fender Precision 1956 Solidbody Electric Bass Sunburst

This is a rare treat – a wonderful Fender Precision 1956 Solidbody Electric Bass in very good, all original condition excepting strings, with some wear to the back finish from the player’s belt. The neck is quartersawn Maple and the body is Alder, with an overall weight around 8.5 pounds (3.9 kg). The finish on the neck is very clean and the headstock logo decal is in excellent condition.

Fender American Professional Jazz Bass Olympic White

The Fender American Professional Jazz bass is an update of the Fender Deluxe bass, originally released in 1960 and quickly renamed as the Jazz Bass. Fender believed the narrower neck and single coil pickups would appeal to jazz musicians. This bass became a legend as it caught on to more than just jazz players and it has been heard on countless classic recordings. The Fender American Professional Jazz bass retains much of the character of its ancestor while being updated with modern features to create an amazing contemporary bass.

Fender Telecaster Maple Neck Black, 1978

The Fender Telecaster Maple Neck has been built without interruption since 1951, though models dating to 1950 used the name ‘Broadcaster’. The concept is simple yet was revolutionary, immediately appealed to countless guitarists and prompted many advances in musical technology. Here we’re looking at a Fender Telecaster Maple Neck with a black Polyester finish, worn enough through use to have exposed blonde and clear sealer finish undercoats. At the time, if Fender had orders for colours not in stock, they would re-finish a body. For example, this guitar’s body may well have originally been Blonde, and over-sprayed black before assembly and shipment.

Fender Red Paisley Telecaster MIJ, 1994

In 1968, the Fender Red Paisley Telecaster appeared, used by one of the hottest players on one of the hottest stages – James Burton and Elvis Presley! Also available in a ‘Blue Flower’ finish – the same idea, but with flowers and a blue tint, these finished did not last long in the Fender catalog. These models have been reissued from time to time, and in 1994 and 1995 the Fender Red Paisley Telecaster was built for Fender Japan by Fuji-Gen Gakki in Matsumoto, Nagano Japan.

Fender P Bass Rosewood Board Sunburst 1963

Here we have a beautiful Fender P Bass, Rosewood fingerboard model dating to 1963 or late 1962, showing a lot of honest play wear from years of use in Toronto jazz clubs. Leo Fender started shipping the ground-breaking Precision Bass in October of 1951. In 1954, it gained the new ‘Stratocaster’ style body contours. In 1957 the new two-coil hum-cancelling pickup and larger headstock and this is the form that has continued to present time. In mid 1959 Fender, seeking more market share in the Jazz crowd, added a Rosewood fingerboard to the Precision bass to match the 1958 Jazzmaster.
