Gibson CF100E Tamio Okuda Electric Acoustic, 2014

Gibson CF100E Tamio Okuda Electric Acoustic, 2014

Here we have another fairly rare guitar, at least for North America – a Gibson CF100E Tamio Okuda model, cutaway with P90 and in very good condition. For those in Japan, Tamio needs no introduction. One of Japan’s most popular guitarist/singer/producer/songwriters, Tamio Okuda has had an almost 30-year career in the Japanese scene. The Gibson Custom Shop CF100E Tamio Okuda  model was built as a limited edition model during 2014, based on Tamio Okuda’s own 1950’s guitar.  The top is solid Sitka Spruce, the back, sides and neck are mahogany (the profile copies Tamio’s guitar) with a rosewood fingerboard.

Art & Lutherie Americana Faded Black Steel String Guitar

The Art & Lutherie Americana Faded Black is hand crafted in Quebec and pays tribute the century old classic Dreadnought body shape. This guitar features a solid cedar top and laminate wild cherry back and sides. The large body shape provides good volume for strumming and the cedar top adds lovely warmth to the tone. The satin faded black finish is sharp and eye catching with the white body binding.

Arthur Hansel Steel String Guitar Natural, 1952

Here’s a piece of Canadian musical history – an Arthur Hansel steel string guitar built in Toronto during February 1952 and restored by Bruce Dowd. Arthur Hansel immigrated to Canada from Germany during the early 1930s with the name ‘Hensel’ and was trained as a cabinetmaker and instrument builder. By 1936, he was listed in the Toronto Telephone Directory as either ‘Hansel’ or ‘Hansell’.

Fender Precision Special Bass Lake Placid Blue, 1980

Fender Precision Special Bass Lake Placid Blue, 1980

The Fender Precision Special bass was built from 1980 to 1982 as part of a trend to modernize some of Fender’s best sellers, particularly the Precision Bass and Stratocaster as ‘The Strat’.   These instruments were built at Fender’s historic Fullerton, California plant under CBS management. Using the same basic construction and materials, the Fender Precision Bass Special starts with an Ash body and one piece Maple neck, here finished in Lake Placid Blue with matching headstock and “Fender Precision Special” decal. However, the gold plated hardware and gold metal thumb rest start to hint that there are differences.

SOLD Taylor 214ce Plus Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar

SOLD Taylor 214ce Plus Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar

The Taylor 214ce Plus is an updated version of their excellent general purpose Grand Auditorium body shape. The narrow waist on this guitar makes it very comfortable to play particularly in a seated position where the guitar sits tighter to your body and doesn’t extend your strumming arm into a fatiguing position. The solid Sitka spruce top used on the Taylor 214ce Plus is paired with layered rosewood back and sides.
